October kicked off with blazing hot days, but slowly and surely, the cool breeze crept in, signaling autumn’s arrival.

As the weather stays mild, there are exciting events to get your heart racing, from thrilling sports to enriching cultural experiences.  And let’s not forget to enjoy autumn seasonal foods as well!

Event in October

Halloween

October is the month of thrills, and Halloween is undoubtedly the highlight of this season. This spooktacular event has gained immense popularity among the masses in Japan. The festivities involve people dressing up in costumes and embarking on a thrilling stroll through the town.

One of the most famous Halloween parades is held in Shibuya, where people from all over the world come to join in on the action.

Let’s embrace the Halloween spirit and have a howling good time together!

Leaf Peeping

The season of leaves changing colors is almost upon us!

Last year, I was visiting the “Ginkgo Tree Avenue” near Meiji Jingu. Taking a break to soak up Mother Nature’s is a must-do.

Now, let’s plan this year’s leaf-peeping adventure! Any suggestions for a new destination to check out? I’m itching with excitement!

Field day, Cultural festival

As the temperature drops, these lively events provide an ideal opportunity to create lasting memories with your family and friends. Don’t forget to bring along some delectable treats to enhance your experience.

Booking week:

The cozy joy of snuggling up with an enthralling book during the perfect season!  While e-books have their charm, nothing beats the thrill of discovering an unexpected literary gem. Exploring uncharted genres and authors is like adding a pop of spice to our bookish journeys, filling them with excitement and wonder.

Grape/ Peer picking, Collect Chestnuts:

With the arrival of autumn, it’s time to immerse yourself in the harvest season’s festivities. Spend your days wandering through fields and collecting fruit such as grapes, pears, and chestnuts. My own trip to Yamanashi remains a cherished memory, where I enjoyed sipping wine made from grapes that we had picked ourselves. Spending time in nature can be an instant mood lifter, so why not plan a little escape for yourself?

Food in October

October is also a month of indulgence, with a plenitude of seasonal treats to enjoy.

From pumpkin and sweet potato to chestnuts and persimmons, there’s no shortage of mouth-watering options to delve into. Additionally, matsutake mushrooms, sanma fish, ginkgo nuts, and fresh soba noodles are also popular fall delicacies.

Flower in October

Autumn’s stunning blooms are a sight to behold. Cosmos, kikyo, and the vivid foliage are all in full bloom, showcasing nature’s artistry.

So, what do you say?  Let’s make the most of this gorgeous season and create unforgettable memories.

Wishing you a wonderful day! 💓
